vera denmark gastroenterologistDr. Denmark received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, followed by residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center.  She completed her gastroenterology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.  Upon completing her fellowship, Dr. Denmark joined the faculty at Mount Sinai where she conducted laboratory bench research in inflammatory bowel disease and served as a teaching attending on the inflammatory bowel disease service. She joined the faculty at Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2013 as the first Medical Director of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research. She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

dr curtis gastroenterologist

Dr. Curtis received his medical degree with honors from Cornell University followed by residency in internal medicine at the Case Western Reserve Hospital in Cleveland, OH.  He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  Dr. Curtis serves as the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and the Director of Endoscopy at Newton Wellesley Hospital.  He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Tufts University and is on the board of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Dr. Curtis has been ranked as one of the Top Doctors by the Boston Magazine and is known nationally for clinical excellence in Gastroenterology.

dr lee gastroenterologistDr. Lee received his medical degree from Columbia University College of physicians and Surgeons, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital.  He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.  Upon completing his fellowship Dr. Lee joined St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, where he was the Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy.  He is on the faculty of Tufts Gastroenterology Fellowship training program at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. He joined the faculty at Newton-Wellesley hospital in 1984.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and gastroenterology.

dr kaplan gastroenterologistDr. Kaplan received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.  She completed her gastroenterology fellowship at New England Medical Center.  Dr. Kaplan joined the faculty at Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2005. She is an active participant in student and resident education at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

dr bailen gastroenterologistDr. Bailen received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at New England Medical Center.  Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Bailen joined the faculty at New England Medical Center where he specialized in inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP. He joined the faculty at Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2003. Dr. Bailen continues to be an active participant in the educational curriculum at Tufts University School of Medicine, serving as co-course director for the Gastrointestinal System course. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

dr levitsky gastroenterologistDr. Levitzky received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, followed by residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center.  He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He completed his therapeutic interventional endoscopy fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Levitzky joined the faculty at Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2011. He is an active participant in student and resident education at Newton Wellesley Hospital Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
